The
Beauty Industry White Pages

October 2000 |

The National Esthetic & Spa Network,
an organization for the professionals of the spa & salon industry, has
been created for networking, support, education, professional growth, the
exchange of ideas, services and enthusiasm to insure the growth of our
industry, longevity of our careers and superior
service within our own establishments.
Members of this network connect regularly through email, bimonthly
newsletters and regular meetings. The Charter district located on Cape Cod,
MA was born when Sheryl Baba, esthetician, and Ginny Kolvek, stylist,
organized the first Seasonal Spa Day in the Spirit of Giving for the
residents of a
local women’s’ shelter. Last December, Ginny, Sheryl and 12 volunteers
from several area salons brightened the holidays of the women and children
by offering massage, facials, haircuts, color analysis and make-overs
performed on location within the Safe Harbor shelter.
Local businesses supported the cause and donated various goods including:
fruit & veggie platter and flowers from Stop & Shop; make up and
skincare products courtesy of Sebastian International; banners from Tom
Paulus; towels from Acme Linens and monetary donations from kind patrons.
This event was well received and generated press in Modern Salon,
LesNouvelle Estheique and locally. It was decided that the group would
anniversary the heartwarming benefit in December of 2000. National attention
due to Internet postings resulted in teams across the country volunteering
to host the event in their own communities. Teams in Arizona, New jersey,
San Francisco, Canada,
Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island to name a few!
The Spirit of Giving Spa Day will be held December 11, Monday around the
country. Bringing beauty, wellness and improved self esteem to the less
fortunate women and children of shelters in local communities. If you would
like more information on how to lead your own team, to find a team near you
or to donate goods please contact Sheryl Baba at 508-362-1246 or email nespanet@aol.com.
Resident Beauty Companies on Beauty Web
We have 2 new residents moving into the
Beauty Web -
- NEBRA - The
Northeast Beauty Representative Association - This is a Group of
Manufacturer Reps that combine their efforts once a year to produce a
trade show for their Distributors in the Northeast and the Manufacturers
they represent.
This year they are having a speaker from BBSI and others to discuss the
beauty industry and the internet beauty portal that BBSI is looking
into. BBSI will also have a membership booth at the show - so any
beauty distributors out there in the Northeast should try to attend this
event. March 17-18
